An important part of our culture is supporting charities.
On April 8, 2017, at the Trump International Hotel in Washington D.C., Luke's Wings 6th Annual Gala honored USMC Sergeant Joshua Lopez (RET.).
Luke's Wings hosts fundraisers throughout the year to raise money and awareness to show appreciation to their supporters, sponsors, and wounded service members.
There were live musical performances by Captain Luis Avila, US Army and Combat Medic Peter "Harmonica Pete" Dupre, US Army. Harmonica Pete is a WWII Veteran, 93 years young and performs all over the United States with his harmonica.
Our President and CEO, John Plott, presented the "Heroes Award" to the guest of honor: Sergeant Joshua Lopez of the United States Marine Corps (RET.) who is a Purple Heart Recipient.
Our CEO said, "I was very proud and honored to present the "Heroes Award" to this year’s recipient, USMC Sergeant Joshua Lopez."
As a fundraising event, there was also a live auction where attendees could bid on an array of items such as art sculptures by Veterans, airline tickets for families in need, or a golf package and many more great items.
Following the live auction Karena Gardner, our Director of Operations also spoke providing an update on Luke's Wings success in 2016.
Everyone in attendance felt honored as we got to celebrate our veterans and this great organization: Luke’s Wings.
